High Brothers Lumber began in 1978 as the Plywood Barn when Jim High and his brother, Pete High, opened their first store. With a focus on providing quality building materials to the local community, the Plywood Barn quickly became a trusted name in the area. In 1981, Mike High joined the family business, continuing the tradition of excellence.
In 1991, the original store underwent a major renovation and was rebranded as High Brothers Lumber, marking a new chapter in the family’s legacy. By the early 2000s, the business had outgrown its original location, and in 2000, a new, larger store was opened at its current site. Mike ran the business with the same dedication and integrity that High Brothers was built on until his passing in February 2023.
Today, the next generation of High Brothers, consisting of Mike’s sons, proudly continues the family tradition, bringing the company full circle to its roots as a lumberyard run by two High brothers. They remain committed to serving their community with the same quality products and exceptional service that have defined High Brothers Lumber for over four decades.

He always talks to him and we feel very welcome here. Prices are a little more expensive but the customer service is worth it to me. I will spend more here than go somewhere cheaper.
